Workshop

The Creative Writers Workshop (CWW) is a program designed for inner city youths of (but not limited to) of African descent between the ages of 13 to 17 to help them develop or improve their creative writing skills. Afrikan Luv Company partnesr with schools, churches, and other community based organizations to bring their Saturday program across all boroughs in New York City.

Creative Writer's Workshop

The Creative Writers Workshop objectives are to increase and enhance participants:

  • creative writing skills, 

  • knowledge of self by allowing them to understand who they are historically and in today's world, 

  • awareness of the gifts they possess with their writing skills and release their unlimited potential,  

  • understanding of current events both locally and globally. 

 
Showcase

Each participant will have the opportunity to showcase their work either individually or as a collaboration to their families, friends, and community. The participants will chose from one of their works developed during the Creative Writing Workshop or inspired by the workshop. The showcase will be held once a year as an Afrikan Luv Company production at a selected theatre where tickets will be sold as part of fundraising efforts for the non profit.
